Benefits and Opportunities

The Niranjana sewing centre not only provides women with a chance to make a living and hence improve living conditions, but it also teaches them skills that could be used in setting up their own businesses and self help groups.

The status and confidence in the women is improved amongst their families and communities. The women also learnt to work as a group and make new friends who they can work with to solve both work and personal problems. Through working together the women gain a strong sense of belonging.

Free or subsidised healthcare is avaiable to the women through Niranjana's community health iniative.

It is Niranjana’s vision to provide and continue to provide such benefits. The project provides an opportunity for women to receive an education despite cultural restrictions, as well as funding for further education by the younger girls.
