Niranjana Health Initiative

Niranjana Health Clinic opened in 2007, as an expansion of our school and orphanage. The clinic has grown immensely since its inception, now seeing from 40-100 patients every day. And this is just with one doctor! The health team are dedicated, intelligent and compassionate individuals who work well together and do their very best to keep all the village people healthy.

The clinic sees a range of patients from infants to elderly, the majority being female. Most of our patients need treatment for chronic illnesses or are at risk of preventable diseases, but many acute skin conditions, coughs and colds etc are also seen regularly. With more complex cases, our clinic supports the patient and often arranges appointments with specialists and transport to see the specialists who are in distant towns.

Expenditiure: 20% of NPWT funds

Key results delivered so far:

  • Almost 3000 patients have registered for treatment after two years

  • There have been approximately 5000 recipients of health promotion efforts

  • Predicted 1200 families benefiting from member's subsequent avoidance or recovery from disease

  • Over 95% of our patients report satisfaction with their care and treatment
